Do I really have to put it away until the next baby comes along?
My mother-in-law initially made it for my nephew 10 years ago and a few other kids have worn it in the meantime. It fit Bella perfectly, which was unexpected since my nephew was around 2 when he wore it and Bella isn't quite 1 and a half. (Hello, jumbo-sized toddler!)
My parents are in town as it was my g-ma's 90th birthday party last weekend, so it was fun to have them go trick-or-treating with us.
We kept it really simple - just 3 houses on Nicollet Island - and Bella did great.
Husband and I were lame-o and failed to wear costumes.
And for the curious, we let her have a little Kit-Kat bar and I gave her a couple tiny pieces of some organic gummy bears we got. Husband and I will probably eat the rest of the candy we got (a whole 7 pieces). But don't feel too sorry for my girl. She did have cake both on Saturday at my g-ma's party and again yesterday at my sister's baby-shower brunch. And let's not forget the dozens of M&Ms she charmed out of relatives this weekend, too. Plus there were all those ice cream comes my mother-in-law gave her in Mexico. Girl's been on a sugar high for weeks.

Seriously adorable!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! Looks like she had a great time!
ReplyDeleteAnd I am impressed she kept the hat part on so well.. NOTHING stays on my Camy's head for more than .03 seconds.
I love how she carries her tail, such a lady :)
ReplyDeleteWe visited three houses in my parents neighborhood, and three in ours. Plenty of candy for the upcoming week. Roscoe ate at least four cupcakes yesterday, and his fair share of candy. This week we'll resume baby's clean eating.
At least she got to go trick or treating! We didn't even take Lilah because I won't give her candy, therefore I would have to eat it :) And since I put on 4 pounds last week, it's pretty clear that I need to lay off the candy for a while. She just helped me hand it out instead.
ReplyDeleteThe skunk costume is WAY too cute! Love it!
Cutest skunk ever! You're a nicer daughter than me. My mom and grandma were visiting, but I told me mom that I wanted our first "trick or treating" experience to be just Olivia, mom, and dad. We also just went to a few houses in our neighborhood and turned down candy. I felt the candy being offered to Olivia thing awkward because I didn't want our neighbor friends to think we were giving her candy or that we were taking her trick or treating just so we could eat the candy!
