Food Documentation: Day 6

Breakfast
Breakfast 6:30 AM
After another terrible night of sleep (up 1-4 AM again), I was up and at 'em early with the toddler rooster (she began crowing at 5:45 AM, but seemed happy to sing and talk to herself for nearly 30 minutes in her crib). We were in a little bit of a hurry this morning because I had a midwife appointment. I had 1.5 gluten free waffles with 1.5 Tbsp organic maple syrup along with another berry-banana smoothie (greek yog, froz blueberries, banana, little OJ). Also had a small cup of half-caf with half-and-half (not pictured).

Morning Snack
AM Snack - 9:30 AM
I treated myself to a grande caramel macchiato after the midwife appointment. I was feeling indulgent and got it half-caf with 2% and extra caramel drizzle. I would never have veered from my usual order (non-fat, regular amount caramel) had I not been so intrigued with your comments on my Starbucks giveaway (Blue Jean Amy - I believe you were the culprit on this one!). While I will probably stick with my regular version in the future, it did taste extra yum.

Lunch
Lunch - 12:30 pm
Picked up lunch things and MORE groceries at Whole Foods. Second time for avocado sushi this week, but this time it's with brown rice (was too tired to pick out something else...just went with the first thing that sounded kind of good!). Also had a small vanilla greek yogurt (decided to stick with the lightly sweetened greek yogurts rather than plain when eating them on their own). I bought some Mint sparkling water hoping it would help me drink even more water, but the flavoring pretty much just reminded me of the dentist.

Right after lunch, I put Bella down for her nap and then I decided to have just at bite or two of the cake I picked up for that night.
Dessert - 1:00 pm

After two bites I decided it made more sense to eat it now, rather than later since Husband and I were going to eat late and I didn't want to get reflux. Looking back I wish I had taken the time to really enjoy it - and take it out of the plastic container! - rather than just mow through it. The extreme tiredness was definitely a factor in the lack of mindfulness with dessert this day. Oh well. Live and learn (again...and again).

Afternoon Snack
Snack - 5:30 pm
Light snack of 1 oz honey roasted peanuts and cranberry spritzer (2 oz pomegranate-cran juice, 6 oz sparkling water) to tide me over between the gym and dinner.

Dinner
Dinner - 8:00 PM

Dinner - 8:00 PM

Dinner - 8:00 PM
Roasted beet & champagne mango salad over mixed greens (similar recipe here), grilled chicken, and seasoned quinoa for dinner. Also had a dry vanilla bean soda.

No evening snack since we ate so late.

Water intake - 48 oz + additional 20 oz of hydrating fluids

  1. muahahha. i'm a bad influence! score! glad you liked, but you're smart to stick to your regular choice... i just really love watching the barista go nutty with squirting all that caramelly goodness.

i hate that mint water, too. same brand with lemon or lime or orange is good, tho.

talk to me about beets. is there a way i can enjoy them? they taste like earth to me.
