| EXHIBIT A |
Brace yourself, I'm about to go Reader's Digest on you. But what can you do? Kids! They say the darndest things.
- Bella was wearing a new pair of pajama pants she got from G.G. - her great-grandma. She walked over to where I was folding clothes and said, "See these?" and gestured to her pants. She continued, "These are not good pants. They go into my bottom," and turned around to show me her bum. Aw...baby's first wedgie.
- She asked to check my ears and upon inspecting them, announced they were full of "racks and junk."
- I got Oliver up from his nap and changed his clothes and brought him to where Bella and I were playing. She studied him with a serious look on her face before turning to me and announcing, "I don't like those pants." I asked her why she didn't like them and she responded, "They have a problem." Then I asked her what the problem was and she pointed to the rolled cuff and said, "You rolled them. That's a problem."
- On Halloween Husband's work hosted a little pizza party for his team and their spouses & children. As we pulled up to his large building, Bella gasped and said, "Look! A castle!" The thrills didn't end there - she got to wear her lion costume and roar at people and then we ate pizza and cookies and she loved it. The next day she asked where daddy was and I, knowing she knew he was at work, asked her a question back: "Where do you think Daddy is?" Her answer: "Daddy is at his castle. He's eating pizza with his friends."
baby-wedgie! Wicked funny.
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect summary of the bipolarity of living with a toddler. Cute and awesome one minute, HORRIFYING the next!
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree more! You're exactly right - just when you want to explode on them, they charm you with their complete cuteness, so unfair :)
ReplyDeleteYou rolled them. THAT'S A PROBLEM.
ReplyDeleteThis killed me multiple times today when I thought of it. She sounds like a really scary boss, a la Devil Wears Prada.
I love her!
Lol @ the baby wedgie! Now that it's impossible to track all of A's words in listy form, I have been meaning to follow her around for a whole day, writing down everything she says and attach it to her quarterly letter. Toddlers are endlessly amusing.
