Things I'm Looking Forward To...

These are only a few out of a few hundred...

Current Entryway

Future Entryway

A closet! Right in the entry! Such thrills!

Current Mudroom
Uh...

Future Mudroom

I think of Husband dumping all the mail and his briefcase and random stuff on that counter (versus the dining room table or kitchen counters) and I get downright giddy.

  10. You would probably laugh if I was to do compare my family in our apartment vs. your current home. hehe. Mudroom? No. Laundry room...err yes..sort of..a stacked washer dryer in a closet. Loving your new and upcoming bath tub!!

  11. Thanks for all the comments :)

Mama in the City - I would absolutely not laugh! If I was passionate about this place (the way husband was/is) I don't think I'd give two sh*ts about hallway laundry space/tiny stair-landing entry/etc. However, I have never been super in love with this place and I was itching to leave the city so I"m excited to expand. But you are clearly so in love with your neighborhood/city (which always looks beautiful in your/your husband's photos) that I'm sure no mudroom or laundry room would tempt you away! I am curious - will your kids share a room in the future or do you have 3 bedrooms?

  12. Your new house is GORGEOUS!! I can understand the excitement. And now that you posted about having a mudroom where your husband can put keys and papers and stuff REALLY makes me want one too LOL. Our stuff also gets dumped on the kitchen table. :)

  13. I know you mentioned that school districts were #1 on your list when house hunting. Would you mind sharing what districts you were looking at? My husband will soon be transferred to MN with Target and I am looking for a "local" perspective.

    Love your blog!

    1. Hi Julie,
Our top school districts were Edina, Minnetonka, and Wayzata based on rankings. Those should all be decently close to Target. And I'm happy to share any other info about MN and the area :) Good luck with your move!

    2. You are SO freakin lucky, that house looks amazing. A real entry way and "place to dump stuff other than kitchen table" are currently on the top of my want list too.

Julie - I'm also a MN native and grew up close to where Laura is moving and used to work downtown near Target HQ so feel free to ask any questions!
