Wonderful news to report: I'm feeling better!
It's hard to convey just how happy and thrilled I am to feel better. To be clear, I still am dealing with nausea and aversions, but it's at a lower level. A manageable level. A regular everyday-pregnant-lady level where saltines and ginger ale just might do the trick sometimes. Honestly, it's probably something of an ideal level of symptoms to feel in the first trimester: lousy enough to get the sense that baby is still cooking nicely but good enough to function almost normally.
It's day 3 of this wonderful new state of being. The truly terrible debilitating nausea seems to have left the building. For now. I know all too well that it can go up and down for several weeks yet. But after careful scouring of my posts from my late first tri with the other two pregnancies, it seems that what brought the nausea back full force was related to catching a major cold both times around week 12. Let's hope that the seasonal difference in this pregnancy keeps me healthy and feeling good.
Here is where I'm going to proudly present to you the very normal things I have been able to do: drink coffee in the morning (!!), skip doses of zofran (!!), eat a chicken quesadilla from a restaurant (!!), and eat a tuna salad sandwich at lunch (!!) LOOK AT ME GO!!!!
HAPPPPPPPYYYYYYYY! Not enough exclamation points in the world!!!!!!
The other magical! wonderful! spectacular! "symptom" that I'm experienced is nesting. I'm going nuts with organizing and making plans for decorating all three kids rooms. It's weird, I have been unmotivated to do anything other than super minor decorating with either kids room since moving in a year ago and now I have a clear vision for both spaces. I heart nesting energy so very, very much. I'll put up a post with my plans for all three rooms this week, but you can check my Pinterest board in the meantime if you are interested.
To think that September won't be the complete wash that August was feels so damn great.
Happy Labor Day weekend to you all!
**Updated a few hours later to add**:
Just had a puke-so-hard-I-pee incident, probably related to me showering (a classic trigger for me). LOLZ, self. You are one funny lady. But you know what? I still declare this a happy happy day because any day with a several hour break from the most brutal nausea is a good day. I'll probably turn back into a pumpkin around 3 PM for a few weeks yet...
